Nick Foles

The Jaguars made a huge splash this offseason signing Nick Foles, however, Foles isn’t a quarterback you should be drafting. Although Foles is an upgrade from what they had, this Jaguars’ offense will still be extremely limited, especially at the wide receiver position. Foles does have the easiest schedule amongst quarterbacks, which means he will have a lot of favorable matchups. Even with this, he should be considered a QB2 this year.

Leonard Fournette

The moves the Jaguars have made this offseason have put Fournette in a great position to have a big year. The Jags upgraded the QB position, giving them the ability to throw the ball vertically down the field. This will keep teams from stacking the box against Fournette as we’ve seen in the past. The Jaguars have also upgraded their offensive line, which ranked 21st in rushing last season. Drafting Fournette high does come at risk though, considering he’s already missed 11 games in his two-year career. If he can stay healthy, then he would be a solid RB1 going into this season.

Jaguars’ Receivers

It’s hard to point to any specific receiver on this team that will be a reliable week-to-week guy you can depend on. This receiving core consists of Dede Westbrook, Marqise Lee, and DJ Clark. All of them are young, have dealt with injury, and are working with a new quarterback. Westbrook shows the most upside potential, coming off of a year he ranked 33rd at his position. DJ Clark could also be poised for a breakout year. The second-year player from Idaho State is coming off a year where he only caught 14 passes, so you will most likely be able to pick him up after your draft. After his lack of playing time last year, Clark should have a more significant role in this offense and poses a deep threat for Foles. If Marqise Lee can stay healthy, he could also be a low-flex option. Overall, this offense holds too much concern to feel comfortable with any of these receivers being a consistent starter on your team.

Jaguars D/ST

After an incredible year in 2017, the Jaguars’ defense took a huge step back last season. This defense has too much talent to play like they did a season ago. The Jaguars also drafted Josh Allen this summer, which should make an immediate impact. Expect this team to be a top-5 fantasy defense this year.
